The Talking Room is a safe and welcoming space I’ve created especially for young people. When designing it, I thought carefully about the things that make me feel calm, comfortable, and secure. Soft lighting, calming colours, cosy seating, and a choice of creative and reflective activities. Every detail has been chosen with care to make the room feel less like a classroom and more like a retreat, somewhere children can step away from the pressures of school life.
It has taken a lot of thought, planning, and hard work to bring this space together. My hope is that it offers the same sense of safety, calm, and belonging for every young person who walks through the door. The Talking Room is a place to pause, breathe, and feel supported — a space where young people know they will be listened to, valued, and never judged.

Hi, I’m Dan - A Psychology with Counselling graduate with experience in supporting young people’s emotional well-being within alternative provisions around Nottinghamshire.
As a former Well-Being Mentor, I’ve worked with many students aged 11-16 in a supportive, non-clinical setting to help them manage emotions, build resilience, and feel heard.
I’m also currently looking to develop my practice further with the dream of becoming a qualified child therapist. My approach is warm, reflective and grounded in evidence-based well-being practices.
I also have qualifications and training in First Aid, Mental Health First Aid....
